The energy transition is cheaper electricity and a safer country, not just EU regulations

Climate change, the AI revolution and relentless demographic trends — these are the challenges that will reshape the Polish economy in the coming years. Does the energy transition have to mean only increasing costs and a thicket of regulation for companies? Grzegorz Maliszewski, chief economist at Bank Millennium, argues that the opposite is true. In an interview with Bankier.pl, he explains why the cheapest energy is renewable energy, how banks differentiate capital costs for “green” and “brown” companies and what the government should do so that Polish businesses do not lose the race for innovation.
